Summary Of Last Newsletter |
|
|
|
|
In our last newsletter, we
introduced the IntelliTrac Web Login. Using Internet Explorer or
preferably Mozilla Firefox, IntelliTrac users can now log in
over the internet on any computer anywhere in the world to track
their vehicles. There is no longer a need to run our Virtual Map
Client Server Software which must be installed on each
individual customer PC.
We also discussed Fleet Management Report Generation.
Are you generating reports or
simply looking at dots on a map? IntelliTrac offers a suite of
reports designed to allow you to manage your fleet and determine
the performance of your mobile workforce.
Last but not least, we
discussed value added services you are able to offer your
customers, by allowing them to log into the IntelliTrac System
to view your vehicles. Each User Log in may be given special
privileges as to which vehicles they can view and the type of
reports or journey replay's they are able to access.

What's New This
Week in Our Software |
| |
|
|
| |
Recently
you may have noticed some changes on the IntelliTrac
Website. The most obvious new features are:-
The two tick boxes under
LOGOUT.
- These tick boxes select
the Geofence Layer on the maps and also the Alerts
Popup Screen.-(Discussed later in detail)
The Vehicle Names are
now either highlighted in Red, Green or Blue indicating
- Red:- GPS System is not
communicating with the IntelliTrac Data Centre:-
Possible Reason..Ignition is
switched off, vehicle not in use.
- Green:- GPS System has a
connection to the IntelliTrac Data Centre
- Blue:- GPS System is
sending position information to the IntelliTrac Data
Centre
The table under the map
now indicates:-
- Driver Name
- Region - Location name
as defined in the Geofence Editor
- Report ID- The reason
why the position was sent to the server. For example

Geofences - How to define your customer locations on a Map |
| |
| |
Geofences are a great way of defining locations on a
map. Imagine defining your customer locations and then
being able to generate reporting based on those locations.
As you become an expert with IntelliTrac we will also
show you how to generate email alerts and popup
alerts based on geofences.
Here are some typical
examples of how Geofences can wet your appetite for
IntelliTrac Technology.
Advanced IntelliTrac
Users are using geofences to:
- Determine how many times
they have visited a customer.
- Determine the average
time spent at a customer premises.
- Determine the total time
they have spent at a customers premises.
- Determine the down time
their vehicles experience at the office.

Entering Geofences
on your maps |
|
| |
|
|
| |
Click
Geofence in the left hand menu |
|
| |
 |
|
| |
|
|
| |
The following
"Tabbed" Window marked Online IntelliTrac Geofence
will appear |
|
| |
 |
|
| |
Geofences are
set up in layers. Imagine looking at a page on your
street directory, and the placing a clear plastic sheet over
the page and drawing shapes on the plastic sheet.
Each plastic sheet would represent a layer of geofences.
For ease of use we recommend you have only one layer.
But as you become more experienced, you can have a layer for
your customers, another layer for your suppliers and
so on.
So under the menu heading
"Group" Click on "New Group" and enter the name
of your Geofence Layer. I will call mine "ENEWS
GEOFENCE".
Then zoom into an area on
the map where you would like to define a geofence and
Click on New Geofence.
The following screen will
be displayed indicating how to commence entering your
geofence points. Press OK then go to the map and click
on the first point of the geofence, the second point, third
point and so forth. Use the mouse right hand button to close
the geofence.
|
|
| |
 |
|
| |
After
you have defined your geofenced - you will need to name the
geofence. |
|
| |
 |
|
| |
Then
you will need to define which vehicles in your fleet are
allocated to the geofence. Please see the tick box
next to Rose. Then Click on
Submit Assignment Changes. For novice users we
suggest that you allocate all vehicle to each geofence.
|
|
| |
 |
|
| |
The Padlock and Centering Icons
above allow you to
move or adjust the position of the geofence and centre the
geofence on the map respectively. |
. |
| |
|
|
|
| |
|
Let's Generate
Geofence Reports |
|
|
|
|
Now that we
have defined geofences, we will be able to view these
geofences in the Region Column on the table below the map
viewer window, and also in a range of reports.
IntelliTrac offers a range
of reports, allowing you to analyse your fleet activity.
Click on "Reports" to discover the various reports menu's
available on demand!
The
Geofence Report allows you to determine how many times you
have visited a geofence and how long you have stayed
within the geofence.
The example below shows that
Rose has visited the Mitcham Fitness College 4 times during
the 1st of May until the 14th of May.
The shortest visit was 12
minutes and the average stay is 2 hours 41 minutes, 12
Seconds
 |
|
|
|
|
The Stationary Report will also
display geofence information in the right hand column.
 |
|
Enjoy experimenting...more to come next
week! |
