Media group PMP Ltd says the new IntelliTrac GPS Tracking System will track and monitor the progress of people delivering shopping catalogues and will improve its bottom line in years to come.

The IntelliTrac GPS tracking system, was launched in Sydney in September 2006, and is carried by people delivering direct marketing materials. The system provides real time updates and management reporting on the progress of delivery.

Trials conducted in late 2005, saw the IntelliTrac system increase PMP’s DIFOT (Delivery in Full on Time) to 99%.

Already PMP has increased its market share as 13 major retailers including all Coles Myer Ltd brands, Red Rooster, Hungry Jack's and Radio Rentals have already signed up to use the new system.

PMP Chief executive Brian Evans said the company's investment in GPS tracking was not expected to have a material impact on operating earnings in the current financial year.

Asked whether the introduction of the system would impact PMP's bottom line in 2006/07 and beyond, he replied: "Most definitely.”

"We are talking about a premium product, and it is priced that way and, from PMP's perspective, you can see by the take-up that we have got from the market place already that people are excited about the new model," he said.

The company said better pay for letterbox delivery "walkers" would also help to reduce the current high turnover of staff, which is a common problem across the industry.

IntelliTrac  with its associated companies Virtual Map and street-directory.com.au hope to  partner with PMP to market this technology globally.

n 2002  when Sam Piedimonte, CEO of Ernest Hillier Chocolates, Coreco Fine Foods and The Piedimonte IGA Supermarket Chain, decided to equip his fleet with IntelliTrac, his major concern was future proofing his investment.

That was in the days when GPRS communications was a twinkle in our eyes, SMS and Circuit Switched Data calls were the norm  and software was based on  single user technology.

As always, Sam made the correct decision. He chose  IntelliTrac products.

Lately Sam was wanting an upgrade to his GPS Technology, to take advantage of GPRS and the multi user software platforms. He approached IntelliTrac for advice.

Sam got the surprise of his life, when we told him that the existing hardware was compatible with the GPRS network and Virtual Map Enterprise Software Systems. A simple reprogramming of the devices was all it took.

Now, The Piedimonte group of companies share the IntelliTrac Virtual Map Enterprise Server system on a departmental level. One IT infrastructure spread across the group.

Following in Sam’s footsteps was Port Kembla (Hospital) Linen Service. They have also joined a growing list of clients upgrading their existing IntelliTrac X8 “in vehicle systems” from CSDATA/SMS single user platforms to GPRS and the Virtual Map Internet Hosted Solutions at minimal cost.

Unfortunately, back in those days, there were many organisations that chose competitors products. Now out of contract, these organisations are unable to economically upgrade existing systems, and are joining IntelliTrac to experience the IntelliTrac  Advantage.

Welcome to the winning team!
