GPS Based Road User Charges

Anyone using New Zealand's roads contributes towards their upkeep. Most road users pay levies when they buy fuel. Others, such as drivers of light diesel vehicles and heavy vehicles like trucks, pay through road user charges (RUC).

To pay the road user charges you purchase a RUC licence based on the vehicle’s RUC weight and RUC vehicle type.
For most diesel cars, utes and vans, you need a distance licence, which you purchase in 1000km units (or multiples of 1000). You must buy a new licence before you’ve driven all the distance covered by the previous licence.

IntelliTrac's Road User Charge module allows fleets to keep track of RUC purchases and be reminded of any expiries coming due.

How Does It Work?

IntelliTrac's Road User Charge module allows fleets to keep track of RUC purchases and be reminded of any expiries coming due.

When you purchase your RUC Licence, the system automatically reads the vehicle odometer and sets up a reminder to advise you when you are due to purchase again.
The system keeps track of each RUC purchase and the amount paid.

At the same time, the system automatically calculates any off road usage using IntelliTrac's advanced mapping technologies. Our systems don't simply rely on your inputting of off road geofences, we can actually calculate distances off public roads using our mapping technology to provide you the optimum off road credits for your business.
