Fuel tax credit record sheet
The per-vehicle worksheet that supports an FTC claim: fuel by acquisition date, the on-road and off-road split, and the workings.
How to use it: Keep one sheet per vehicle per BAS period, or use it as the specification for what your fleet system should produce automatically. The columns exist because each one answers a question the ATO can ask.
Vehicle details
- Vehicle: [rego, make/model]
- GVM: [tonnes] · Classification: [heavy (over 4.5t) / light (4.5t or under)]
- Auxiliary equipment, if any: [fridge unit / agitator / tipper / crane / none]
- BAS period: [quarter/month, year]
Fuel acquired this period
| Date acquired | Fuel type | Litres | Source (card/receipt ref) | Rate period |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Rates apply by the date the fuel was acquired. A period spanning a rate change needs its litres split accordingly.
Use apportionment (heavy vehicles)
- Method used: [telematics distance / test period percentage / ATO basic method / safe-harbour auxiliary percentage]
- On public roads: [%] · Off-road and auxiliary: [%]
- Evidence for the split: [journey data / logbook reference / method worksheet]
Light vehicles: on-road travel is not eligible. Only enter genuine off-road business litres.
The claim calculation
| Use | Litres | Rate (c/L) | Credit ($) |

- Cross-checked against the ATO rates and method: [yes/no]
