Geofencing

Geofencing is drawing a virtual boundary on a map so vehicles entering, leaving or dwelling in that area can create activity logs, alerts or automated actions.

Fleets use geofences for depots and sites (arrival and departure history), restricted or high-risk zones (alerts), customer locations (proof of service) and off-road areas (supporting fuel tax credit apportionment).

The step beyond alerts is automation: a geofence event that opens a job, closes a delivery or flags an exception, with a person approving anything consequential.
