Can we mix phone-tracked and device-tracked vehicles?
Yes. IntelliTrac devices and the driver app can feed the same fleet map, vehicle history, bookings and reports. This lets you keep phone tracking active while devices are rolled out. When both sources report for the same vehicle, IntelliTrac uses the device data.
How can a mixed rollout work?
- Fit devices first to vehicles that need continuous tracking, engine data, driver identification or video.
- Use the driver app where a device is not yet installed or where trip-only tracking is enough.
- Keep both types of tracking on the same fleet map and vehicle history.
What happens if both sources report?
Each journey shows whether its tracking came from a device or the driver app. If both report for the same vehicle, IntelliTrac uses the device data because it is connected to the vehicle and provides more detail. The system prevents duplicate journeys.
Why use both during a rollout?
The software can go live while installation is scheduled across depots. Vehicle history stays together as each vehicle moves from phone tracking to an IntelliTrac device.
