Pool vehicle

A pool vehicle is a shared work vehicle available for any authorised staff member to book and drive, rather than being assigned to one person.

Pool vehicles can reduce the cost of occasional staff travel, but they are often managed through inboxes, shared calendars and keys kept in drawers.

Run well, a pool needs three things: self-service booking with rules, check-in and return capture, and utilisation reporting that shows how many vehicles the pool actually needs.
